Iain Walker has been acting as an Expert Witness since 1977. This was a case involving the accidental death of a person with diabetes. Iain’s recent cases have included:

· The miss-selling of a prohibitively expensive protection policy to a divorcee;

· Pension settlements on divorce;

· Interpretation of non UK scheme Trust Deed in respect of actions by trustees to reduce increases in deferment, and payment, of deferred pensioners;

· Provision of evidence in criminal proceedings involving the trustees, advisors and the use of the scheme assets;

· Provision of independent actuarial report on allocation and investment of scheme assets.

Cases have required appearance in court and cross examination by counsel. During the settlement of the pensions miss-selling Mr Walker acted as a consultant to a prominent insurer to ensure the correct calculation of any compensation.

Iain B Walker has more than 20 years experience as a consulting actuary in pensions. He is managing director and senior actuary. In addition to working as an actuary Iain also acts as trustee to pension schemes in wind up and is an experienced expert witness.

Prior to joining Ragbourne in 1994 he was managing director of a life and pensions consultancy. As a consulting actuary he was a principal of major US International Consulting firms. He trained with a UK insurance company, specialising in pensions.

Iain has an honours degree in mathematics and natural philosophy from Glasgow University, is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries, the Pensions Management Institute and has full FPC qualification as an Independent Financial Advisor.
